Socialist Feminist Day School Presents: Social Reproduction Theory

The Socialist Feminist Working Group of the Democratic Socialists of America invites you to our third Day School session on Saturday, February 27, at 4 PM EST/ 1PM PST. We will be discussing social reproduction theory, from a debate between Silvia Federici and Angela Davis over the Wages for Housework movement to the current crisis of care during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Please budget a few hours to get through all of the readings – but feel free to join if you only read one or two of the texts! We will be reading the following texts:
- Theses 4 and 5 from Feminism for the 99 Percent: A Manifesto by Cinzia Arruzza, Tithi Bhattacharya, and Nancy Fraser (2019) pages 16-25
- Wages Against Housework (1975) by Silvia Federici
- Chapter 13 of Women, Race, and Class (1981) by Angela Davis
- Socialist Feminism and the Pandemic (2020), by Tithi Bhattacharya
